The Perštejn Brewery only began its brewing history in 2013, in the building of a former trimmings factory that was in operation until the end of the Second World War.
In 2008, the factory was bought by Miroslav Chalupník, who gave the building a second life, so to speak, and opened a brand new mini-brewery. The owners undertook a sensitive restoration, emphasizing the industrial character of the building. The complex was completed with the addition of a kitchen and restaurant. The restaurant offers traditional Czech cuisine.
The beer is brewed according to old Czech recipes, using mainly hops of early and late varieties from Žatec. No preservatives or stabilizers are used in the production process. The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized. In addition to light 10°, 12° and dark 12° beer, specialty beers and non-alcoholic lemonade called Chalupnice are also produced here.
Guided tours of the mini-brewery are available. It is better to arrange a tour with the owners of the brewery in advance. They will be happy to tell you the story of the Chalupník Brewery in Perštejn and show you around the brewery.
