Steamer festival to mark the fleet's 190th birthday

Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt is one of the oldest continuously operating steamship companies in the world. The fleet is not only a technical monument, but also a living cultural asset: it operates the oldest and largest paddle steamer fleet in the world and has been shaping the image of the Elbe around Dresden since 1836.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt will be celebrating an entire birthday weekend from 10 to 12 July 2026.
