Start of the season at Rammenau Baroque Palace

At a glance

The only fully preserved manor house in Saxony is located at the foothills of the Lusatian Highlands, near Bautzen: the baroque Rammenau Castle. From the outside, it is a fairytale castle of modern times. Inside, the Chinese Room, Pompeiian Room, Bird Room, Peacock Room and Hunting Room impress with their late Baroque and early Classicist interior design. In the 18th century, the von Hoffmann family bought the baroque Rammenau Palace at auction. Their son Johann Centurius Count von Hoffmann designed the idyllic landscaped park. Today, guests enjoy classical music in the Hall of Mirrors. In the historic dining rooms, culinary specialties take you back to the time of the landed gentry.

From April 1, 2025, guests can once again spend relaxing hours in the castle grounds with the picnic wagon. Lovingly arranged with cushions, blankets and lots of goodies, you can find your own cozy spot in the castle park and enjoy a break from everyday life. Those who prefer to feast in the castle will find a spot in the Garden Hall Café or on the castle terrace from 10 am to 5:30 pm (closed on Tuesdays).
