The 3,000 square metre panorama AMAZONIA shows the most diverse forms of vegetation in the Amazon basin and its complex ecosystem in an artistically condensed form. The panorama can be viewed from the visitor tower on several levels. As if in a clearing, the view then opens up far into the Amazon landscape, to the crowns of gigantic, majestic jungle trees, to colourful, fascinating plants and exotic animals.
The accompanying exhibition offers the opportunity to approach the complex rainforest system in a direct way and to become aware of the immense importance of this natural area worthy of protection.
Yadegar Asisi is particularly keen to show the nature panorama in Dresden.
AMAZONIEN was already on display in Leipzig in 2009, in Rouen (France) in 2015 and in Hanover in 2017. For the new exhibition in Dresden, the panorama has been reworked using state-of-the-art technology and the latest technical means.
Panoramas by Yadegar Asisi have been on display in the historic gasometer since 2005. In addition to Dresden, the artist's panoramas can also be seen in Berlin, Leipzig, Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Pforzheim. Further locations in Vienna and Constance are planned. Yadegar Asisi creates the world's largest 360° panorama installations.
