International Festival for Vocal Music "a cappella"

At a glance

From May 30 to June 7, 2025, the audience can expect 10 concerts, workshops, a lecture on the voice and the events of the Leipzig International "a cappella" Competition, which will be a platform for up-and-coming vocal musicians from all over the world for the 15th time, to mark the 25th anniversary of the a capella festival in various venues in Leipzig.

This special anniversary will be celebrated with old friends and new colleagues. Our Finnish friends Rajaton will be visiting us again, as will the Renaissance masters Profeti della Quinta and the British a cappella band The Magnets. We amarcords will also be performing together with the Klenke Quartet in the opening concert. Lutenist and singer Joel Frederiksen and his colleagues Emma-Lisa Roux and Giovanna Baviera will shed light on the special field of self-accompanied Renaissance singing, we will uncover the a cappella comedy goodness of our neighboring country Austria with Die Echten and present Van Canto, the first a cappella heavy metal band. The prizewinners' concert of our reigning competition winners, the calens vocalensemble, will inspire us just as much as a new - and now 15th - edition of the Leipzig International A Cappella Competition - for the anniversary celebration in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus (and of course including a master class and showcase)! And when Prof. Fuchs' a cappella lecture on voice and psyche heralds the final day of the festival with our traditional closing concert, we will conclude a 25th a cappella edition that is sure to enrich, inspire and inspire us for a long time to come - right up to the next editions of this festival roundelay that has grown on our hearts and ears.
