Wintertime is the season of lights - and seven renowned artists and studios have created a feast for all the senses for the Kunstkraftwerk. While most exhibitions to date have begun with the immersive multimedia show in the large machine hall, the path of luminous and sonorous installations of the "Dream Factory" now leads from the mirror room through the tower and cellar rooms to the boiler hall before entering the machine hall. Here, the winding path through the illuminated experiences leads to the multimedia projection "The Little Mouse".
The 360-degree projection is the German premiere of the original VR film: "The little Mouse who wanted to become Somebody", which premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2025. In the 27-minute 3D multimedia experience, the talented mouse wants to make a name for himself and takes a job in Santa's high-tech factory. Her fame is assured - but will she perhaps lose her magic, dreams and joy in mass production?
With its playful, fantastic installations, the "Dream Factory" helps visitors to the exhibition to open the first chapters of their own dream story in their heads. They revel in constellations that form on the walls and interact with a large glowing owl. In the dream forest, everyone lives their own individual dream, because every movement of the visitors in the interactive installation, every drawing with their hands on the walls changes the colorful forest and its amazing creatures. Whether child or adult - in the "Dream Factory", whatever young and old ghosts imagine is created. There are real ghosts too: a labyrinth of light, water spirits and many illuminated surprises await in the basement of the show.
