South of Chemnitz, close to the Czech border, in the heart of the Ore Mountains, the vacation region "Around the Greifensteine" presents itself with the Greifenstein Bike Marathon.
With the largest contiguous forest area in the central Ore Mountains and interesting historical monuments, there is plenty to see and experience. For almost two decades, one of the most beautiful but also most challenging bike marathons has been taking place on the second weekend in September.
On a 23 km circuit, which can be ridden 1-2 or 3 times depending on ability, MTB bikers will find everything to make their hearts beat faster - that's a promise!
