100th Moritzburg Stallion Parade

At a glance

In addition to its hunting and pleasure palace with its perfect baroque architecture, which was also the filming location for the cult fairy tale "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella", the municipality of Moritzburg is world-famous for its horse breeding at the Saxon State Stud.

The traditional and popular Moritzburg Stallion Parades at the Saxon State Stud are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. Tens of thousands of visitors flock to Moritzburg every year to be inspired by the variety of horse breeds in the almost four-hour programme. Trade visitors and horse-loving amateurs alike can expect a multifaceted show with more than 130 horses on 7, 15 and 21 September 2024.

The state stud's jumping stallions will show off their skills in the show jumping course, while the dressage-focussed state stud stallions will impress in the large quadrille with 25 riding horse stallions and in the dressage quadrille.
The heavy warmbloods will present themselves in a variety of harnesses up to the large multi-horse teams.
The free-running Haflinger stallions offer a spectacular sight.
The impressive 16-horse stagecoach of the state stud traditionally forms the conclusion of the parades.
