From Lohsdorf, we initially continue along the road towards Sebnitz. Before it swings up to Ulbersdorf, we turn right into the Schwarzbach valley. We now cycle slightly downhill on what is initially a very good surface, always following the yellow line markings. After approx. 1.7 km, we reach the first tunnel of the former narrow-gauge railroad. It is advisable to shorten the trail and ride under the rocky spur in the tunnel. However, the ballast of the old track bed is clearly noticeable here. We also have to survive the next 1,100 meters on a very bumpy track, hopefully without a puncture, until the path improves again shortly before the next tunnel. The onward route now turns left, but the detour straight ahead through the second tunnel and the viaduct immediately afterwards is highly recommended. Afterwards, however, we have to return to the hiking trail because the narrow path down from the railroad embankment on the other bank of the Sebnitzbach is a shortcut that cannot be taken by handbike.
Our tour now follows the hiking trail in an arc around the mountain, where you can even spot the artifacts of the Goßdorfer Raubschloss castle if the conditions are right. After crossing under the railroad line to Sebnitz and a first bridge over the Sebnitzbach stream, we next reach the rest area at the former buttermilk mill. However, even under favorable conditions, you can only see the foundations of the mill. After approx. 150m, the route climbs a short steep section that is very difficult to negotiate due to the gravel. Most hand cyclists will need pushing assistance here because the drive wheel spins on the poor surface. However, where a path branches off to the left at the apex, we ride straight on and almost as steeply downhill. Shortly afterwards, we pass the viaduct over which we had previously ridden after the second tunnel. After another passage under the Bad Schandau - Sebnitz railroad line (which is still in operation), we reach a railroad keeper's cottage and shortly afterwards the arched metal grate bridge, over which we cross the Sebnitzbach for the second time. Due to the sharp bend of the arch, additional help may be required here - not to mention the fact that handbikes with low ground clearance are likely to "sit on" here. After this second critical point, we now only have to struggle another 500 m on a narrow meadow path parallel to the railroad line until the road conditions improve again. We continue on a slightly gravel road to the village of Kohlmühle. After crossing the tracks again, we turn right at the next junction, pass the Goßdorf-Kohlmühle stop and take the narrow road on the left at the next junction approx. 200m further on. This leads us further down the valley, always alongside the railroad line and crossing under it several times, later past the Porschdorf stop, to the mouth of the Polenztal valley. The tour ends at the hikers' parking lot in Porschdorf, but can also be continued on public roads to Bad Schadau or back to the starting point (see further information above).
