Moritzburg Festival

At a glance

A lively spirit of innovation, musical dynamism and fascinating venues characterize the unique atmosphere of the Moritzburg Festival.

Founded in 1993 by Kai Vogler, Peter Bruns and Jan Vogler in the style of the famous "Marlboro Festival" (USA), the Moritzburg Festival sees itself as both an experimental laboratory and a centre of excellence. Under the artistic direction of cellist Jan Vogler, it has established itself as one of the most renowned chamber music festivals in the world.

In its 33rd year, the Moritzburg Festival for Chamber Music is once again reinventing itself: under the artistic direction of cellist Jan Vogler, a total of 19 events are planned from 8 to 24 August 2025 . Against the magnificent backdrop of Moritzburg Castle and Park, 27 international soloists from different generations will celebrate the diversity of chamber music literature with captivating interpretations.
The spirit of innovation, musical dynamism and special venues characterise the unique atmosphere of the renowned chamber music festival.
