Passing numerous sites of industrial culture such as old lime kilns and the Venusberg spinning mill, the cycle path runs along the former narrow-gauge railway line.

Connecting to the Erzgebirgsbahn and the Zschopautal cycle path, the 11 km long cycle path starts in Wilischthal. Along the namesake stream, the scenic Wilisch cycle path runs on the former narrow-gauge railway line Wilischthal–Thum, established in 1866 and closed in 1972. The easy-to-ride route winds through mixed forest, past blooming mountain meadows and the ruins of old lime kilns, through Gelenau and the Venusberg spinning mill, to Herold/Thum junction. The continuation of the marking to the Greifensteine recreational area is planned.
