The hiking trail starts at the Groitzsch town tower near the market square. Passing the Frauenkirche church, it also touches the ruins of Wiprecht Castle. As the castle of Count Wiprecht von Groitzsch, it was of great historical importance and is considered the oldest stone building in Saxony. Next, the trail plunges into the Pfarrholz nature reserve, a species-rich floodplain forest area through which the Schwennigke river flows. The route continues past the villages of Altengroitzsch and Saasdorf via Gatzen to Löbnitz-Bennewitz. The tour ends here at the former manor house, where Ulrike von Levetzow was baptized. This route is approx. 6.5 km long.
