Hiking parking lot at the Trebnitzgrund/Liebstädter Straße entrance in Glashütte
Hiking parking lot at the Trebnitzgrund entrance
From the hiking parking lot we walk upwards through the Trebnitzgrund, following the yellow line and the blue dot. At the stone bridge, we continue following the yellow line and arrive at the blockhouse (Old Forest House). Further along the valley, the yellow line leads us through beautiful meadows, past the building "Niedere Trebnitzmühle". We continue walking and see on the left side the former "Obere Trebnitzmühle", then further on (yellow and green line) until we reach the road. At this point, the legendary "Wüste Mühle" must have stood on the left. We cross the bridge and then follow the green and yellow line on the right side, continuing upwards along the Trebnitzgrund. After about 300 m, we leave the Trebnitzgrund going uphill to the right and arrive at Börnchen. At the crossroads is a wonderful hiking rest stop, the Langdasthof Börnchen (advance reservation recommended: 035054 25704). Whether in the beer garden or the guest room, here you experience the cozy atmosphere of the Osterzgebirge with a beer and regional cuisine. After a refreshment, we first walk along the road towards Dittersdorf, then the "Böhmische Steig" turns off to the right and runs along the ridge parallel to the Trebnitzgrund. We continue hiking, following the green dot marking to Neudörfel.
From here there are 2 options for the return route. Either you follow the road, then turn right (elevation 333 on the map)
and walk the road back to the Trebnitzgrund hiking parking lot or you walk to Neudörfel, following the green dot to the road (Liebstädter Straße), then turn right again to the hiking parking lot.
Interesting information boards about nature and the history of the region, panoramic views of the Osterzgebirge and Saxon Switzerland, beautiful, natural valley.
Walking through the Trebnitzgrund is also very pleasant on hot days, as there are always shady sections along the river.
