Hikers' parking lot at the entrance to Trebnitzgrund/Liebstädter Straße in Glashütte
Hikers' parking lot at the Trebnitzgrund entrance
From the hiking parking lot, we walk uphill in the Trebnitzgrund, following the yellow line and the blue dot. At the stone bridge, we continue to follow the yellow line and come to the log cabin (Altes Forsthaus). As we continue along the valley, the yellow line leads us through beautiful meadows, past the "Niedere Trebnitzmühle" building. We walk on and see the former "Obere Trebnitzmühle" (Upper Trebnitz Mill) on the left-hand side, continuing (yellow and green line) until we reach the road. At this point, the legendary "Wüste Mühle" must have stood on the left. We cross the bridge and then follow the green and yellow line up the Trebnitzgrund on the right-hand side. After about 300 m, we leave the Trebnitzgrund to the right and ascend to Börnchen. The Langdasthof Börnchen (advance reservation recommended: 035054 25704) is a wonderful rest stop at the crossroads. Whether in the beer garden or the restaurant, here you can experience the coziness of the Eastern Ore Mountains with a beer and regional cuisine. After refreshments, we first walk along the road towards Dittersdorf, then the "Böhmische Steig" trail turns right and runs parallel to the ridge to Trebnitzgund. We continue walking, following the green dot markings to Neudörfel.
From here there are 2 options for the way back. Either you follow the road, then turn right (elevation 333 on the map)
turn right and walk along the road back to the hikers' parking lot -Trebnitzgrund or walk to Neudörfel, following the green dot to the road (Liebstädter Straße), then turn right again to the hikers' parking lot.
Interesting information boards about the nature and history of the region, panoramic views of the Osterzgebirge mountains and Saxon Switzerland, beautiful, unspoilt valley.
The Trebnitzgrund is also very pleasant to walk through on hot days, as there are always shady sections along the course of the river.
