Cross-country skiing on the roof of Saxony - cross-country skiing on the competition and training trails of Olympic champions and world champions
The trail network of the Sparkassen Skiarena Oberwiesenthal consists of a total of 13 FIS-certified trails of different lengths and difficulties. The trail network is divided into a western and an eastern part.
Some of the trails are machine-groomed and thus guarantee cross-country skiing from the end of November into spring. Night skiing is offered twice a week on the 2.5 km "light loop".
The trails of the Sparkassen Skiarena are primarily reserved for the training of elite athletes at the national training center but can also be used by clubs and hobby athletes outside training times.
Note: the route shown is the "5 km René Sommerfeldt" loop
