Tour of Zschopau

Coming from Bahnhofstraße in the direction of the castle, start at the "Zschaap mei Geß" bridge memorial with stops 14 and 15. From there, cross the Zschopau bridge and turn right down Gartenstraße. At the next junction, you will see the grammar school on your right. The large green school complex is directly accessible during the week and forms stop 13 on the tour. Continue across the schoolyard along Seminarstraße. At the junction with Rundolf-Breitscheid-Straße, keep straight ahead. The street becomes "An den Anlagen". The city park "An den Anlagen" is on the left. At the end of the street, the Martin Andresen Nexö School is located diagonally to the left on the opposite side of the street. This is stop 10 on the tour. For stops 11 and 12, turn right "An den Anlagen" and the street "An den Anlagen" becomes Gabelsberger Straße. The medical center is located at Gabelsbergerstraße 3 (stop 11). Diagonally opposite is the former municipal swimming pool (Station 12). From here you can also continue in the direction of Waldkirchen. To stay on the circular route, turn back towards "An den Anlagen". Pass Martin Andresen Nexö School and turn left at the crossroads, leaving the park "An den Anlagen" on your left. Now turn right at Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße and you will reach Station 9 - a former manufacturer's villa in the late classicist style. At the next junction, turn right into Marienstraße. Here you will see an old corner house (Station 8) with a strikingly high roof. At the next crossroads, turn left into Körnerstraße. At the end of Körnerstraße, you will cross Lange Straße. From here, it is best to turn left first. After a few meters, turn right onto Neumarkt. Turn right here into a small side street - Ludwig-Würkert Straße. Directly on the corner you will find stop 4 - the old post office. Follow Ludwig-Würkert Straße to the end and turn left twice across Lange Straße onto Johannisstraße. At the corner, you will see Station 6: the Wilke House. Further down the street you come to Station 5 - also a half-timbered building, which was probably built around 1800. Further down, at the junction with Wiesenstraße, there is a staircase on the left leading up to the church - stop 7. Passing the church, you return to Neumarkt. Continue right onto Altmarkt. Here you will find stations 2 and 3 - the former Hotel Stadt Wien and the new town hall. Diagonally opposite, the yellow building is the old town hall (stop 17). Continue straight ahead to Wildeck Castle - the named Station 1 - where you will find the city library, the motorcycle museum and the "Dicker Heinrich" observation tower. On the way back, you cross the Altmarkt onto Lange Straße and walk downhill past the Imperial Post Office (Station 18) and the Adler Pharmacy (Station 16).

Via Lange Straße you return to the Zschopau bridge and the train station.
