To the Pressnitz Reservoir

Starting from the market, riding through the town hall gate, you reach the Zschopau valley cycle path, which you follow to Niederau, but do not cross the river there. Shortly before Streckewalde, the Pressnitz valley branches off. Until Steinbach, a cycle path runs on the former railway embankment of the narrow-gauge railway with many bridges, then parallel to the museum railway. At the Schmalzgrube station, continue cycling straight ahead, soon leaving the road, toward the border crossing and in the direction of Kryštofovy Hamry. Above this Czech town lies the picturesque drinking water reservoir. Following the further road direction (not over the dam wall), head west, after about 1.5 km on cycle route 3003, to the border town of Vejprty. Upon arriving in Bärenstein, you roll below the B 95 in the valley of the Pöhlbach through Königswalde and Geyersdorf to Thermalbad Wiesenbad. After crossing the Zschopau, you return on the Zschopau valley cycle path to Wolkenstein.
