Explore the idyllic Preßnitz Valley by bike and train.

Shortly before Schlössel station (670m above sea level) on the narrow-gauge railroad, the Preßnitz Valley Cycle and Hiking Trail branches off from state road 165. This forest path leads slightly downhill parallel to the Schwarzwasser. At the beginning of Schmalzgrube, the small river flows into the Preßnitz. Following the paths along this watercourse, you reach Steinbach station (543m above sea level) after a further 4.5 km. You now have the option of continuing the tour along the former railroad embankment in the direction of Streckewalde or taking a more relaxed route back to Jöhstadt on the steam train of the Preßnitz Valley Railway, which runs from here on weekends and public holidays. Bicycles can be carried free of charge. For fans of more challenging cycle tours, we recommend planning the route in the opposite direction.
