First upstream, then downstream! The Upper Lusatian twins promise pure cycling enjoyment through the multifaceted Upper Lusatia.

Equally enchanting and temperamentally different – like fraternal twins – are the cycling routes along the Spree and Neiße rivers, which flow downstream through the most beautiful areas and places of Upper Lusatia and are then welcomed by the extensive river landscapes of Brandenburg. And the best: you can combine the twins.

Downstream from their source in the Czech Jizera Mountains, the Neiße first reaches the Lenten cloth town of Zittau in Upper Lusatia. Here the twin “Oder-Neiße Cycle Route” blossoms and leads north through the impressive river landscape to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Muskau Park.

The other twin, the “Spree Cycle Route,” charmingly meanders from its three sources in the Upper Lusatian Highlands, further at the foot of the over thousand-year-old city of Bautzen, through the species-rich land of a thousand ponds to the Lusatian Lake District, while approaching Berlin as its destination.
