Discovery tour for families and the young at heart
The starting point of our tour is the village of Waschleithe (part of Grünhain Beierfeld). In the Fürstenbrunn charcoal burner's hut, you can fortify yourself with an Erzgebirge speciality before entering Saxony's oldest show mine. Driving is only meant figuratively here, as the miner once said. In reality, you walk and, wearing a helmet and cloak, you go in search of glittering stones and the mountain spirit, who is up to mischief in the depths of the mountain and can certainly tell many an exciting story. In the legendary underground world, you will discover imposing marble halls and even an emerald-green lake. Above ground, the tour continues along the "path of the ore", where there is a punching plant and an ore washing plant. In the "Heimatecke" exhibition complex, you can get to know the Ore Mountains in one day and feel like a giant, as all the buildings are certainly smaller than you are.
