Mountain Bärenstein
The descent leads through the remains of the former luge track (built in 1971, 1,100 m long) and the "Himmelsleiter" area.
The route turns off to the right before the small Olympic champion museum (14 Olympic champions) at the Sportbaude Waldeck. From the Hotel Jens Weißflog (3-time Olympic champion and Stoneman Miriquidi messenger), the forest paths tend to descend and run alongside the narrow-gauge railroad for a while. From Niederschlag station, the Stoneman heads towards the Cranzahl dam. Shortly before the body of water, turn right and the ascent begins, steep at the end, to the 898-metre-high Bärenstein summit (basalt table mountain) with the accommodation building and the observation tower built in 1913.
