Mousetrap, Elephant Rocks, and Fox Pulpit: there is a ton to discover animal-wise in the Zittau Mountains.

The shape of some sandstone rocks resembles a dove, rhinoceros, lion, or even a brooding hen. Such bizarre creations can be admired among others in the Jonsdorf millstone quarries, where rock formations are also called organ, teapot, or "Three Brothers." Between the spa town Oybin and Töpfer, part of the path through the stone zoo is even suitable for outings with strollers. Around the Fox Pulpit in the climatic spa town Lückendorf, the animal search can be combined with a detour to the Karlsfried castle ruins. Freda and her friends accompany you and your children through the three animal-themed hikes along the stone zoo. How were the rock formations actually formed and who is Freda? Discover the stone zoo together in the Zittau Mountains Nature Park.
