The starting point of the cycle tour is Schützenplatz on the edge of the town center. From here, the route follows the Gablenzbach stream through Mitteldorf and continues along the picturesque Bauernweg to Oberdorf. From there, the route climbs steeply via Paulusgasse and crosses the B 169. The Katzenstein is the highest point and also the highlight of the tour and offers the opportunity to take a break with a fantastic view of the Ore Mountains. Well rested, you can then continue the tour along a section of the Eisenweg and further along the edge of the forest. From the Waldfrieden animal sanctuary, you can cycle along the floodplain of the Oberer Querenbach stream back to the starting point or finish off with a visit to the enchanting tree-lined playground at the Walkteich pond. If you like, you can also go rowing here or relax with coffee and cake from the kiosk or the "Walkbeach" café.

From the A72: Leave the highway at the Stollberg-West exit and drive in the direction of Annaberg-Buchholz. Pass the industrial estate and turn right towards Aue. After about 750 meters, turn left into Schneeberger Straße and follow it to Schützenplatz.
From the city center (Hauptmarkt) by bike: Take Herrenstraße in a southerly direction to Marienkirche and then continue straight ahead onto Schneeberger Straße. Follow this road for about 400 meters until you reach Schützenplatz.
From the city center (Hauptmarkt) by car: Leave the market square in an easterly direction (at the district court) and turn right into Am Mühlgraben. Follow the road over Zwickauer Straße and continue straight ahead into Obere Mühlenstraße. Turn left into Schneeberger Straße. After about 180 meters you will reach Schützenplatz.
