From the car park, we go right to the edge of the forest and pass an information board. From here, the path gently descends to the Knüppelbrücke. We cross the Weida at the former Sichelmühle and go left uphill into the forest. On the field path, we continue straight ahead, past the Sichelberg shelter to Alexanderplatz. Not far from Sichelberg (approx. 200 m) is the Göttlingstein. This commemorates Heinrich Ferdinand Göttling, who lived from 1765–1850 in Irchwitz near Greiz and was considered the richest man of the Principality of Reuß Elder Line.
The path now continues from Alexanderplatz along the old connecting road from Silberfeld to the Quingenberg district. On the right are the Water Sports Center and the guesthouse “Seeblick”. We cross the reservoir on the road bridge. At the end of the bridge at the Alaunwerk, we turn left onto the promenade path. The path runs directly along the shore and offers a wide view over the "Zeulenrodaer Meer" all the way to the dam of the reservoir. After crossing the Stadtbachteich dam, we turn left into the forest by the shore and continue to the Bio-Seehotel and back to our starting point.
At the hotel, the beer garden by the lake invites you to stop for a drink. Here, you can also rent boats or use the swimming facilities.
