The Spitzberg round, as part of the main trail, is reached from the border crossing to Lipova. The winter sportsman immerses himself in the silence of the forest and can complete his round on 5 km. The location at the foot of Spitzberg, which is of volcanic origin and whose basalt peak is a special feature for geologists, is interesting.

This circuit, like all individual circuits I – VI, is part of the main trail.

After experiencing the Oberdorf round or at least part of it, the Spitzberg round is reached. The Spitzberg is a volcanic origin elevation – basalt rock characterizes the summit, which is already on Czech territory.

Just a little off this trail section, the winter sportsman comes into contact with the southernmost point of the Bautzen district.

The shelter “Spitzberghütte” (3) offers refuge in adverse conditions or a chance for a snack from the backpack.
