We start in Dresden at the "Ostragehege", directly at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadium. The route leads through Dresden Mitte, past the Yenidze. We also pass the train station Mitte, before we roll along small roads through industrial areas. Now we ride always along the Weißeritz, past the old Feldschlösschen brewery, in the direction of Freital. On the banks of the river we can occasionally spot a heron and other animals. We cross the Saxon district town, roll along bike paths below the Windberg and head towards Tharandt. Here we marvel at the castle ruins and historic buildings before it comes to the strenuous part of the ride.
In the center of the village we turn towards the spa town of Hartha. Now we continue uphill, more than 3 kilometers at a stretch. Then follows the district of Spechtshausen. After passing through, there are wonderful views of the Elbland to the north. In the south we touch the Tharandter forest. Over the Landberg we now go steeply downhill towards the next larger town of Wilsdruff. The paths there lead over some former small railway lines, which are very well developed.
In Wilsdruff it is worth stopping in the town center. At the historic town center, the bakery offers delicious ice cream. We marvel briefly at the historic town hall with the oldest glass carillon in the town hall tower before the main street leads us out of town again after this break. After a few meters we turn right onto Silberstraße and then onto Meißner Straße in the direction of Klipphausen.
The next worthwhile break destination is already waiting! The Neudeckmühle is directly on our way. Here the refreshment also makes sense, because after that a short steep climb awaits.
The tour then leads us straight back towards the Elbe. We roll down the Elbe slope to Constappel, cross the main road and arrive directly at the Elbe cycle path. On this we ride again in the direction of Dresden and finally arrive at the Ostragehege.
