A tour along our various contemporary witnesses of the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region.

This varied circular hike will immerse you in the fascinating history of the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region UNESCO World Heritage Site. The approximately 10.5-kilometre route connects significant evidence of centuries-old tin mining and leads to some of the most important World Heritage components of the Altenberg mining landscape.

Highlights include the impressive Altenberger Pinge, one of the largest collapse landscapes created by mining in Europe, the Altenberg Mining Museum with the historic tin washing plant "Wäsche IV"the Zwitterstocks Tiefe Erbstolln as an important testimony to underground mining, the Zinnwald visitor mine with its unique tin ore deposits and the Arno Lippmann shaft, which documents the development of modern mining. The tour brings the history of ore mining to life and impressively demonstrates why the region has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019.
