The family-friendly Schwarzbachtal cycle route is about 14 km long, like the namesake stream, and overcomes an altitude difference of 285 meters. It passes through the towns of Adorf, Markneukirchen, and Erlbach and forms a connecting section of the Musikantenradweg.

The cycle path runs partly on asphalted cycle/pedestrian paths, partly on little-trafficked roads, always along the former railway line and the Schwarzbach stream up to its source. There are many sights along the route, such as the Musical Instrument Museum and the demonstration workshops in Markneukirchen, which provide insights into the traditional musical instrument making of the Vogtland region, a game reserve, the Café Mönnig, the Erlbach village museum, the Erlbach brewery, and more. There is a connection to the Elsterradweg in Adorf and a connection to the Musikantenradweg in Erlbach and Markneukirchen.
