The Saxon Way of St. James on the Franconian Road runs about 300 km via Bischofswerda, Dresden, Freiberg, Chemnitz, Zwickau, and Oelsnitz/V. to Hof.

The start of this stage of the Saxon Way of St. James is the Zoephel House in Oelsnitz, which also houses the city’s tourist information. Untere Kirchstrasse leads towards the pedestrian bridge over the White Elster. Past the Marienstift residential home you reach Alte Triebeler Straße, then across meadows and forest paths to the village of Triebel. Here you find the lovingly restored fortified church. The country inn also offers accommodation options. Beyond Triebel you enter the former East-West German border area - a path leads to the tri-border point between Bavaria, Saxony and Bohemia.

The hike leads through villages of the Regnitz region via Trogenau and Kirchgattendorf to Hof. At the Lorenz Church or Lorenz Park, we reach the destination. The stamp station is the tourist information in the Ratzhaus - the pilgrim hostel is located in the former Poor Clares monastery.
