The approximately 500 km long Saxon Central Uplands cycling route runs variedly from Plauen in Vogtland over the Elster Mountains, the Ore Mountains, Saxon Switzerland, the Lusatian Highlands to Zittau in the Zittau Mountains.

Dark forests, beautiful mountain meadows, floodplains, river valleys and raised bogs, but also idyllic mining villages with traditional handicrafts offer plenty of interesting discoveries for nature lovers as well as culture and history enthusiasts on this route. The continuously marked path with the bright orange cyclist symbol leads over roads and paved forest paths. It is suitable for experienced touring cyclists.
