The ridge cross-country ski trail along the mountain ridge from Vogtland's Schöneck to the Ore Mountains' Johanngeorgenstadt is one of the most beautiful and snow-secure trails in Germany and has been awarded the distinction "Excellent Trail" .
In the midst of the Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park, it offers the best conditions over a length of 36 km and is also suitable for inexperienced cross-country skiers. With its designated 18 connecting trails with ideal entry points and local trails (approx. 90 km), it forms a ski region of special appeal.
To regularly maintain and groom the ridge trail Erzgebirge/Vogtland, five maintenance companies use state-of-the-art technology for you. The grooming of the trails costs between 50,000 and 70,000 euros annually. Numerous helpers volunteer to keep operations running.
Besides excellent tracks, optimal skiing pleasure is ensured by appropriate signage and constantly cleared parking lots at the entrances.
