You could make yourself comfortable on the beach of Zeulenrodaer Meer. But you can also pack your backpack and discover your holiday spot in a whole new way: on the reservoir circular trail. Very cleverly, it combines its 45 km round around the water with other hiking trails… et voilà: you already have at least 6 fine short loops from 3 km length according to your taste. All are pleasantly easy, with natural sun loungers on the banks included. And one more insider tip: Reward yourself after the route at the Patisserie Bergmann in Stelzendorf.
The Reservoir TrailⓇ was completed in 2009 and certified by the German Hiking Association as a “Quality Trail Wanderbares Deutschland.” The first section around the Zeulenroda reservoir received this title already in 2006. The path has 89% natural trail markings. Idyllic stream courses, forest areas, viewpoints, and the constant proximity to the water characterize the trail as a natural experience. The entire circular hiking trail is 45 km long. There are 6 connections on the Reservoir Trail that allow different circular hikes from 3 to 18 km.
