Starting from Klingenberg-Colmnitz station, we hike around Klingenberg and get to know, embedded in the most beautiful nature, the Klingenberg dam and a mosaic of other highlights.
At the beginning of the route, we cross the Neuklingenberger Höhe, the most beautiful viewpoint on the southern edge of the Tharand Forest (360-degree panorama), then descend to the Klingenberg dam with waterworks and hydropower plant. On the way to a narrow, natural valley section of the Wilde Weißeritz, the effects of electrification on the partly still existing formerly water-powered mills in the valley can be observed.
On the return to the station, we experience the cultural landscape on the Klingenberg plateau. Here, at various points, we can exemplarily learn about the possibilities this area offers for environmental and nature conservation. Finally, we will see the beginning of forest restructuring in a forest section. While walking through a settlement, there is an opportunity to take a closer look at nature in the settlement area and discuss it. Afterwards, we reach the Klingenberg-Colmnitz station again.
