Kurparkhotel Warmbad
Kurparkhotel Warmbad
Warmbad Wolkenstein was part of the immediate home of the folk hero Karl Stülpner, also known as the "Son of our Forests." From the Kurparksee we follow the red trail northwards to the Brand-Wald (the name comes from the time of charcoal burners) and then switch to the yellow trail towards Hopfgarten. There we take the red-marked Zschopautal path downstream, which we leave again at the beginning of the green-marked Stülpner Trail to reach Großolbersdorf and the well-maintained grave site. The red-marked high route or the path via the Wurzelbachschänke back to Warmbad offers a view of Scharfenstein Castle, which Stülpner is said to have once besieged alone. Could he also have bathed in the Warmbad thermal waters at that time?
