On a discovery tour in Waschleithe

Waschleithe is a small village that belongs to the town of Grünhain-Beierfeld. A long time ago, Saxon history was written here with the Prinzenraub. Today you can have a good time at this historic site and enjoy Ore Mountain hospitality in the "Köhlerhütte". How about a delicious "Schieböcker", a genuine Erzgebirge specialty?

Well fortified, we follow mining traces and enter Saxony's oldest show mine. Driving - as the miner once said - today you walk and after a short time you enter a fascinating underground world with glittering stones, imposing marble halls and emerald green lakes. With a bit of luck, you may even encounter the mountain spirit that lives deep inside the mountain. But that's not all. Above ground, a visit to the mining adventure world is a must. The miners' forge, hammer mill and ore washing plant bring mining to life!

The "Heimatecke" display area invites you on a journey of discovery of a different kind. You can get to know the Ore Mountains in one day in the lovingly designed miniature layout. And if you still feel like venturing into the realm of wild animals, you have the opportunity to do so in the nature and wildlife park. Red deer, otters, reindeer & co. are happy to welcome you at any time of year.

Tip: On "Fürstenberger Hüttentag", which takes place once a month in the "Herkules-Frisch-Glück" show mine, you can dig for minerals yourself and mint a "Fürstenberger" with muscle power.
