SWF “Alter Bahnhof” Neuhermsdorf

You start the route towards Fischerbaude and walk along Ringelstraße towards Torfhaus. The “Torfstraße” and further on the “Alte Torfstraße” lead further towards Teichhaus. At the hiking fork “Alter Bahndamm” turn right onto it and go to Eisenbahnerweg. (Refreshment option: Gaststätte zur Loipe). Continue on the old railway embankment and later parallel to it, past the tourist border crossing, always continue along the path. Through meadows and valleys, you reach the district Neuhermsdorf and the inn Alter Bahnhof “SWF” with a small exhibition and museum. After a refreshment, return almost in the same direction - walk above the SWF along the cobbled street until the asphalt begins. Then turn left again towards Bahndamm. A few steps further, turn right into the forest path (signposted as bridle path - towards “Altes Zollhaus”). Walk the path slightly uphill to Zollhaus and then turn left towards Holzhau.

Soon after, Schanzenweg turns right. It bends right again and you come back above the railway bridge to the “old Eisenbahnerweg.” Turn half right here and continue straight on the path. (Signposted as bridle path) This runs parallel above the trail to the district Teichhaus. You walk to the fork “Schwarzer Buschweg” and after 2.5 km you reach the district Holzhau. At the hiking fork turn right towards Berghotel Talblick and after crossing the main road, walk across Johannes-Kamprat-Weg.
