The nature trail consists of two circular routes with a total length of 9 km and runs between Augustusburg and Erdmannsdorf and between Augustusburg and Hennersdorf.
It runs exclusively through the forest.
It can be walked as a whole route or divided into two circular routes.
For the circular route Augustusburg-Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg and when walking the entire trail, entry is possible both in Augustusburg and in Erdmannsdorf.
The section Augustusburg-Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg offers the Kunnerstein viewing point with a wonderful view, which is ideal for a picnic spot.
Information boards along the entire trail provide interesting facts about the topic "forest".
Refreshments directly along the route: Hotel "Am Kunnerstein" in Augustusburg (starting point of the trail or intermediate station between the two circular routes)

Circular route Augustusburg-Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg (5.5 km)
At starting point 1, below the Franzosenfriedhof, there is an information board about the nature trail.
You first walk the E-route straight uphill to Erdmannsdorf.
In Erdmannsdorf just before the main road (=starting point 2) turn left and follow the path always parallel to the railway embankment.
At the next fork, keep left and at the next intersection left again. Follow the path uphill through the forest, then the right curve and straight ahead.At the next fork, walk uphill to the left.
At the next intersection turn right towards "Kunnerstein". After a short time, you reach the Kunnerstein viewpoint. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Zschopau river towards Hennersdorf and Kunnersdorf. A shelter offers space for a picnic break.
Then continue to follow the "Nature trail" signs and after a short time reach a main path, which you follow straight ahead.
(In the opposite direction, at the shelter straight ahead and later follow the signs left towards Kunnerstein)
After a few minutes, you reach the E-route again and turn right onto it to return to the starting point or to reach the starting point of the circular route via Hennersdorf.Circular route Augustusburg-Hennersdorf-Augustusburg (3.4 km)
Below the Franzosenfriedhof, pass the information board for the nature trail on the left and immediately turn left onto a small path.
This path leads after a few meters back to a larger one to the right. At the next fork keep right.
At the next intersection, the trail turns left. The path then goes straight over the street and back into the forest. Immediately afterward, turn right and walk on a small path through the forest, parallel to the street. Continue straight ahead, pass a small parking lot with a shelter. Keep straight until the next signpost, then follow it to the left.
At the next intersection, left again, then straight ahead.
At the next intersection, according to the signpost, walk uphill to the right and at the following intersection left.
You now reach the path where you started walking and follow it back to the starting point.Tour information

- Parking(1) Schlossberg parking lot, from here on foot turn right into Waldstraße and walk to the end (about 300 m) or at Albin-Müller-Straße (at the starting point of the hike)
(2) parking lot at Erdmannsdorf station opposite the valley station of the cable car (50 m to the starting point of the hike)
Public transportation(1) by bus to the stop "Zum Schlossberg" in Augustusburg (cross the street and walk uphill on Waldstraße, about 300 m to the starting point of the hike)(2) by bus or train to the stop/station: Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg, station (walk about 50 m uphill from the valley station of the cable car and turn left before the railway bridge into the forest to the starting point of the hike)
