1 Spechtritz Station 2 Magic Barn Borlas 3 Höckendorfer Heide Wildlife Park 4 enchanting Höckendorfer village center with hotel inn "zum Erbgericht" 5 Rest area "Huthaus am Richtschacht" 6 Museum station "Edle Krone"
Spechtritz Station (Weißeritztalbahn)
Edle Krone Station (DB S3 Freiberg-Tharandt-Dresden)
The Spechtritz station of the Weißeritztalbahn is the starting point of the route. First, we must go through the enchanting village of Spechtritz, ascending quite steeply on the village streets. But after only 700 m, a beautiful panoramic view of the landscape opens up. We follow the paved village connection to Borlas and reach the Magic Barn in Borlas almost at the upper end of the village after 3.2 km. If you have registered, the magicians are ready behind the door and you can even learn magic here. From here, we continue hiking into the Höckendorfer Heide and, at the sports ground, turn left onto Marktweg heading towards Ruppendorf until we reach Wettinplatz; then shortly afterwards, turning right on the green stripe marking, we reach the playground and the Höckendorf wildlife park. At the village square, we find a tourist information and rest facilities in the hotel inn "Zum Erbgericht." From here, we follow a part of the "Holy Way" towards Meißen, but only as far as the Huthaus am Richtschacht. Going down to Edle Krone to the train station, passing through a part of the "Nature Experience Edle Krone," the path is somewhat more demanding. Shortly thereafter, we can shorten the wait for the next local train with a visit to the museum station Edle Krone. In this meeting place for railway, hiking, and nature enthusiasts, you can also enjoy your own refreshments at the hiking rest "Zum Hemmschuh."
In just under 10 minutes towards Dresden, via Tharandt, you reach Freital Hainsberg again and are quickly in the state capital after only 22 minutes.
Note: There is also a hiking trail from Seifersdorf or Malter station through the Seifersdorf and Höckendorfer Heide to the wildlife park and the picturesque Höckendorfer village center. The hiking destination Edle Krone can also be reached over the Ochsenberg and the Pionierweg on a longer but easier route.
