Educational route about the flora, fauna, history, and geology of the Hüttenbachtal in Zwota
The approximately 2.5-kilometer-long educational route through the Hüttenbachtal is located at an elevation between 600 and about 630 meters above sea level. The trail is designed as a loop, and hikers can use the parking lot directly on B 283 as a starting point. The Grüner Baum bus stop is only about 300 meters from the entrance to the Hüttenbachtal, and the Zwota-Zechenbach train station is about one kilometer away. Along the educational route, 20 panels provide information about the flora, fauna, history, and geology of the Hüttenbachtal. Since 1961, there has been a 37-hectare nature reserve in the upper reaches of the Hüttenbach, which belongs to the Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park. The rear and front Hüttenbach ponds, renovated in 2005 and 2009, are classified as natural monuments. The Hüttenbachtal is crossed by, among others, the Vogtland Panorama route and the Musikantenradweg.
