The circular hike from Frohburg leads across the borders of Saxony and Thuringia to the "Eschefelder Teiche" nature reserve and back again.
The charming little town of Frohburg is worth a visit in more ways than one. With a rich forest landscape, the Wyhra, its lush floodplains and dreamy ponds, you can still encounter a piece of untouched nature here. The circular walk takes you to the "Eschefelder Teiche" nature reserve, a 525-hectare area with more than 100 bird species. In the Teichhaus nature conservation station, which has been run by NABU Saxony since 1996, exhibitions and the library provide information about the unique cultural landscape. In addition to nature lovers, fans of historical sights, recreation seekers and sports and action fans will also get their money's worth. A visit to Frohburg Castle with its extensive collection of ceramics and toys and the adjoining English-style park is a must.
