The starting point of our route is the train station in Schöneck. We turn right and then left at the next street. At the end of the street, immediately after the curve, turn right again and at the following T-junction turn right again. After 300 meters, turn left again and arrive at the Meiler. If we go left here, we pass a kiosk and shortly afterwards continue straight to the source of the Rote Mulde, a synonym for the Zwickauer Mulde in the source area. In the opposite direction, and thus at the T-junction to the right, we return to the cycle path. In a left-right-left combination, we finally reach the so-called Sandweg just before the S 301. We follow this path for 3.5 kilometers, passing the Neuwaldteich, and at the following fork turn left. Shortly afterwards, we cross the Rote Mulde pre-dam and about 400 meters further straight over a street and railway tracks. At the next crossroads, we turn right and follow a slight right curve along the railway tracks for a moment. Shortly after, we reach a crossroads. Here turn right again, directly towards the reservoir and before the tracks take the path on the left. After 600 meters, we meet the S 302 in Muldenberg. For 2.5 kilometers, we continue straight on the road. Shortly after entering Hammerbrücke, we turn left into Thälmannstraße and follow it around a right curve at the end. We cross the main road and reach a paved path. We are now in the Muldenwiesen nature reserve and cross the next cross street straight ahead. After another kilometer, we reach another cross street. This time we turn right and after 500 meters take the second turnoff to the left. Before the forest entrance, we turn left and then at the fork into a curved right curve. We follow the forest path until after about 3 kilometers in Jägersgrün we turn right onto S 300. Only 100 meters further, turn left onto the B 283. We follow this street for 2 kilometers to Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz. In Morgenröthe, take the first right turn over the Zwickauer Mulde and soon enter a roundabout. Here take the third exit and thus reach directly the German Space Exhibition. Continue on the cycle path with the second exit, after which we keep right on Carlsfelder Straße. After 2.5 kilometers, we reach the Neue Wiesenhaus and at the fork there, turn right onto S 276 (Carlsfelder Hauptstraße). After another 2 kilometers, pass the Wilzschmühle and then turn left, cross the small river and immediately turn left again into Schlangenweg. We follow the path around a right curve for one kilometer. At the crossroads, go straight ahead and shortly after keep right. After 1.5 kilometers, we reach Torfhaus and take the turnoff behind it to the right. After 700 meters, turn left and then immediately right again. We follow the path for 2.5 kilometers and turn right towards Eibenstock. We follow Auerbacher Straße for 800 meters and then at the fork turn diagonally left into Schönheider Straße. We follow this street and thus reach the town center directly, passing the Neo-Romanesque town church and the tourist information. We continue to Albertplatz. Here we turn right and then immediately left into Obere Crottenseestraße. Now we always keep right on Sosaer Straße, which winds down the hill for 1.7 kilometers. At the intersection with Zimmersacherstraße, we continue straight; on our right flows the Große Bockau, on the left we find the impressive Blauenthal waterfall. Now we reach Blauenthal. In town, we meet S 274 (Blauenthaler Hauptstraße), which after just 100 meters leads us right back onto the Muldental cycle path. From here, we enjoy the ride on the former railway track, which, apart from the underpass through the impressive tunnel near Bockau, runs parallel to the B 283 through the magnificent Westerzgebirge. The cycle path ends in Aue. At the T-junction, we turn left into Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße, then at the end turn right again. We are now on Bahnhofstraße and have completed this stage.
