The hike begins in Pirna-Liebethal at the entrance to the romantic Liebethaler Grund. Follow the Wesenitz river to the Daubemühle mill, past the monumental Richard Wagner memorial (created by Richard Guhr in 1933) and the remains of the former Lochmühle mill. You cross the Wesenitz and come to Mühlsdorf. On the Alte Lohmstraße, later along the edge of the forest, you walk to the Koordinatenstein 51° N 14° E. From the Koordinatenstein, the trail leads over the Försterbrücke bridge and the Querweg to Lohmen. Via the Brückwaldweg and the Schleifgrund you reach the Uttewalder Grund with its famous rock gate. Rocks line the path all the way to Stadt Wehlen. There, the tour leads past the remains of one of the oldest castles in the region. To get to the market square, you now have to turn right. The Malerweg leads to the left.
