This route leads through the magnificent Zschopau valley, through bird protection areas directly along the river "Zschopau". In addition to beautiful viewpoints, hikers can expect Gründerzeit architecture, railway viaducts, and a former monastery.

After passing under the bridge of federal road 175 behind Döbeln, the path leads again through nature on hiking trails over forest and meadow sections. From Limmritz, the route runs directly along the river through the magnificent landscape of the Zschopau valley. After initially flat stretches, it becomes hillier towards Waldheim, and the hiker must overcome ascent and descent sections. This is rewarded with wonderful views over the landscape. The town of Waldheim, richly decorated with Gründerzeit architecture, bears the title "Pearl of the Zschopau valley." Since the beginning of the 15th century, there was an Augustinian monastery here. Luther was responsible for this monastery as an Augustinian monk before the Reformation. With the voluntary handover of the monastery to the Burgrave of Kriebstein, Georg von Carlowitz, the Reformation was also accomplished in Waldheim. Today, the building is used as a correctional facility.
