On the occasion of Robert Schumann's 200th birthday in 2019, the hiking trail between Bad Elster and Asch was named the Love Trail as part of the EU project "Youth, Love and Music".
In 1834, the composer traveled this route to his fiancée in Bohemian Asch. This led to the creation of a cross-border path, 12 km full of nature and romance. Just follow the official hiking signpost in the Rose Garden coming from Bad Elster, follow the signposts, and discover sights such as the Paul-Schindel Park, the Bily Halstrov reservoir, the Hainberg lookout tower, or the Sady-Miru Park in Asch. The hike takes about 3 hours.
