Large circular route Erdmannsdorf

The path leads uphill, before the railway bridge turn left into the forest, immediately right again and then always along the railway embankment.
At the next fork keep left, at the next junction go straight and shortly before leaving the forest turn left.
Stay parallel to the edge of the forest and where it ends, turn right - over a corduroy road - and then along a path parallel to the forest/field edge to the next curve. In the curve, a narrow steep path leads right downhill. After crossing the railway tracks (be careful with children walking ahead!) and crossing the meadow, turn left onto the bridge path.
(Family tip: In the opposite direction, just a few meters away, there is a small playground with a beautiful covered picnic area.)
Follow the path over the bridge and walk right at the valley road to the B 180 in Kunnersdorf.
Turn left onto Dittmannsdorfer Straße towards Gornau and after about 300 m turn right onto "Kapstraße" (follow the signs, keep right, leave the "private road" on the left). Follow "Kapstraße" and enjoy the beautiful surrounding view. After about 25 minutes you reach a viewpoint with a panorama star.
About 150 m after the forest begins on the right, the path turns right into the forest. Now always follow the signs downhill.
After crossing Schwarzbach, Kleinolbersdorfer Straße and the parade ground/parking lot (keep slightly right here and really cross the square) the ascent begins on forest paths through the Black Forest towards Erdmannsdorf.
You reach Chemnitzer Street, cross it and follow the signs to the left. After about 50 m along the road, the path turns right and runs along the edge of the forest.
The circular path then runs downhill for a long time as a lawn path in a big arc along the forest and field edge. The whole time you can enjoy a wonderful view over Erdmannsdorf to Augustusburg Castle.
At the Vogelherd junction, go straight into the forest and continue downhill, now again on forest paths. After crossing a stream, first shortly right and then immediately left.
Follow the narrow path along the stream and then turn right onto the main path to the B180. Cross it and turn into the swimming pool entrance. Before the outdoor pool, the path turns right into the Zschopauaue. On a lawn path, it goes along the edge of the forest. After a short climb on a forest path, just before reaching the B 180, it goes left downhill along the slope and over the mill ditch into the Zschopau valley (signposted "Zschopautalweg").
Turn right along the Uferstraße to the Zschopau bridge in Erdmannsdorf, cross it, walk under the railway bridge, turn left and reach again the starting point cable car/parking lot/station.

Sturdy footwear, if necessary sun and/or rain protection, packed food, possibly swimwear in summer since the path passes directly by the Erdmannsdorf outdoor pool in the last section.

The route is alternatingly flat, uphill, (partly steeply) downhill. Sturdy footwear is recommended.

Be careful when crossing the railway tracks (see route description), especially with children walking ahead. The crossing has no barrier and trains approach relatively fast.
