The Cospudener See in the south of Leipzig is a prime example of the regional development from an open-cast mining area to a vibrant tourism region.

Here you will find watersports providers, restaurants, cafés, etc. The Scandinavian-style harbor at Zöbigker radiates a very special atmosphere. The dune-like sandy beach on the north shore is also known as the longest sandy beach in Saxony. In the south, the Bistumshöhe observation tower offers a fascinating view over the Neue Harth forest area. The Cospudener See can be circled on an asphalted shore path.
