This small city route introduces you to the town of Schleiz and shows the cultural and historical sights.
The route begins at the oldest building in Schleiz: at the City Information "Alte Münze" on Neumarkt. There is also a small gallery to visit here. On the opposite side of Neumarkt is the Café Ried'l, the second oldest coffee house in Germany (1777). A few steps away you can see the Dragon Fountain with the inscription about the legend of the fire dragon and the great fire of 1637.
Through Apothekergässchen, you reach the Schlossberg. The Schlosspark serves as a source of relaxation and recreation. The magnificent City Library is housed in the former administrative building. Past the city church St. Georg, the route leads to the Rutheneum, where an exhibition presents the life and work of Konrad Duden.
The splendid Town Hall should not be missed on the return to Neumarkt.
