The route starts in Nebelschütz/ Njebjelčicy at the parking lot next to the Heldhaus hostel. Along the main road, you cycle past the sports field, keep left, and at the exit of Nebelschütz take the roadside bike path over the state road to Kamenz, district Wiesa. Here, stay right and leave the main road onto the forest road. You cycle a bit through the Kamenz Spittelforst, a recreational area of the city of Kamenz. This is where the Kamenz Forest Festival takes place in August. You cross the state road and cycle over the Bautzner Hill into the city center.
After crossing Bautzner Street, you ride through the idyllic Herrental at the foot of the Main Church St. Marien up to Pulsnitz Street. Cross this and reach the beautifully designed KRABAT playground.
Along the railway tracks, you reach the West Lusatia Museum, which is definitely worth a visit. Then continue via the Kamenz marketplace with town hall and Andreas fountain. Turn left into Schulstraße and come to Schulplatz, where the Kamenz information and the St. Annen museum church await your visit.
Just behind the church you will find the Lessing Museum, inviting you to visit. Via Poststraße continue to the train station, ride down Goethestraße to its end, cross Nordstraße, and immediately at the traffic light to Saarstraße. After about 50 meters, turn left onto Jesauer Feldweg. Near the Schwarze Elster river, cycle to Neschwitzer Street, turn right, then after about 100m take a sharp left onto Gartenstraße and immediately right towards the state road. Cross it and cycle along the airfield to the next junction which leads you through a ford and bridge over the Schwarze Elster toward Deutschbaselitz.
Through ponds, turn right and enter the town center of Deutschbaselitz. The country inn offers good regional cuisine. Following the Saxon towns route marking, cycle past the sand ponds and sand mill back to Nebelschütz. Right at the town entrance, turn left and then turn right into Gartenstraße. You arrive at the festival square with the ensemble “Zollhaus”, wood-fired oven, and celebration barn, managed by the Nebelschütz Homeland and Culture Association. Through the village park, you return to your starting point after passing the Wenden gate.
