Welcome to Raschau-Markersbach - the valley of bridges! Our hiking route starts from the guesthouse "Kaiserhof" along the scenic circular path going up Ortstraße (local marking). At the railway bridge, turn right uphill, follow the E3 (blue) to the right and cross the dam of the lower reservoir (lower basin). Through dense forest, the path leads steeply uphill to the upper reservoir. From the dam crest (upper basin), you can enjoy the magnificent view over the valleys of the Ore Mountains. At Hundsmarterflügel (yellow), the path goes downhill.

After a short break at the hiking and shelter hut of EZV Markersbach e.V., cross the B 101, continue down Gartenstraße, cross the railway crossing to Dorfstraße and follow the marking (yellow). Then the route leaves the yellow marking and continues along Dorfstraße. After a detour (left) to the viaduct (probably the most popular photo motif of our town - also called "Matchstick Bridge"), return to the hiking path and via Ortstraße back to the starting point.

Note: The dam crest is currently closed due to construction work!
