A GartenMulde bike route from Grimma station featuring five small garden gems from classicism, baroque and the Gründerzeit period

The Mulde landscape with its historic villages, wide floodplain meadows and attractive cycle paths is well known as a local recreation destination. The GartenMuldeBikeCircularRoute combines enjoyment of nature with garden culture and also offers charming views from above of the Mulde landscape. The gardens are mostly privately owned but publicly accessible and let you experience three garden epochs. The classicist Göschen garden, where Schiller and Seume once enjoyed walks, the Lustgarten Döben with one of the most beautiful views of the Mulde, the baroque private garden in Kössern with a courtyard café in the manor, the nature-oriented ceramic garden in Schaddel and the Alinenpark with castle ruin and grotto in Grimma from the Gründerzeit period are varied stops on the 30 km circular route. Dining opportunities are also available at regular intervals in Grimma, Höfgen, Kössern, Kleinbothen and Nimbschen.
