The Trainline runs as an out-and-back route from Seiffen, partly along the historic old Nossen–Moldava railway line opened in 1873, to the Kahleberg near Altenberg and back. Here, over 71 km with 1220 m of elevation gain, there is almost exclusively the finest gravel.
The Gravel Cracker is not a competition; currently, 3 nice routes are offered that can be completed comfortably in 2 or 3 days. Those who prefer a sporty challenge can also complete the full 137 kilometers in one "ride." Whether on a short loop or a full-day route, there is pure gravel enjoyment following the tracks of the Nutcracker, which is available as a stylish trailer souvenir for every participant. The preset routes, which adventurous gravel bikers can take on their own under the tires, each have a unique character; they are partially signposted but always navigable by GPS. The only 23-kilometer long but technically demanding "Panorama Loop" covers 6 mountains around Seiffen, offers excellent views, and is suitable as an introduction to a fine gravel weekend. Following that is the 43 km long Seiffen route with 870 m of elevation gain, less “tough” and also technically easier to ride. The "Trainline" runs as an out-and-back route from Seiffen, partly over an old railway line to the Kahleberg near Altenberg and back. Here, over 71 km with 1220 m of elevation gain, there is almost exclusively the finest gravel. The Gravel Cracker is therefore worth considering for anyone who wants to actively experience Seiffen and the surroundings, with the bike sporty and versatile — whether on asphalt, gravel, or forest and meadow paths.
